01 – Arabic is a Semitic Language Family Member.
This means it is related to other languages like Hebrew and Maltese. Despite its long history, it is still used by millions of people today.
02 – The Alphabet Has 28 Letters.
There are three types of letters in the alphabet: those that are written with dots, those written with lines above them, and those written with lines below them. Arabic is written from right to left instead of left to right like English and other European languages.
03 – There Are Multiple Varieties of Written Arabic.
The differences between varieties can be seen in both grammar and vocabulary; however, they all use the same alphabet which makes it easier for speakers to read different variants of the language without too much difficulty.
04 – There Are Dialects Too!
Just like there are multiple varieties of written Arabic, there are also many dialects spoken across various regions in countries such as Egypt, Morocco, Iraq, and more!
05 – Arabs Have Their Own Numerical System Different from Western Ones.
Rather than using “10” for 10 or “20” for 20 (like we do in English), Arabs will say “one-ten” for 10 or “two-ten” for 20 (for example).
06 – There Are No Capital Letters in Standard Written Arabic!
This means that all words must be written in small case letters no matter what type of word it is or how important it may seem in context! It might take some time getting used to but once you do you will find reading easier and faster than ever before!
